BEREA, Ky. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team traveled to the Seabury Center tonight at 6:00 p.m. The Pomeroys battled NCAA Division III Berea College and were defeated 110-48. SMWC has dropped five of their last six contests.
The Pomeroys (3-6) and Mountaineers battled back and forth early on after Molly Buzek drove inside for a lay-up to cut the lead 7-6. Berea put together a 17-to-3 run to extend their lead 24-9 at the conclusion of the first quarter. At halftime, the Pomeroys trailed 57-29, despite forcing 15 turnovers in the first half. In the third quarter, Berea retained their dominance and outscored the Pomeroys 26-to-11. SMWC was unable to find their identity offensively which led to their 110-48 loss.

The Pomeroys will battle a tough 24-hour turnaround as they tip-off against University of Cincinnati-Clermont, tomorrow, at 6:00 p.m.
