SMWC Swept by the Foresters
SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind.  The Saint Mary-of-the- Woods College softball team was back in action this afternoon against Huntington University. The Pomeroys lost both games which marks their first time being swept this season.

GAME ONE | VS. HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY | LOST 1-0
 The circle presence was strong on both sides. Huntington University pitchers struck out one, while SMWC sat down eight.Huntington University started things in the first inning when Casey Lehman singled on a 2-2 count which scored one run. A single by Baylee Waters in the fourth inning was a positive for Pomeroys. Lauren Miller pitched Huntington University to victory. Taylor Andrew took the loss for the Woods She lasted seven innings, allowed four hit, and one run while she struck out eight. Waters went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead the team.

GAME TWO | VS. HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY | LOST 8-3
SMWC opened up their scoring in the first inning when Kelsey Young singled on a 0-1 count to score one run. Huntington knotted the game up at one in the top of the third inning when Kennedy Krull hit a solo homer. The Pomeroys could not hold the Foresters and allowed seven more runs to scored while they would only add two more. Christian Chambers led things off on the hill for the Woods. She lasted four innings, allowed seven hits, six runs and walked one.  Kelsey Young and Kerri Schrock each managed one hit to lead the team.

The Woods softball team will be back in action on Wednesday, March 28th at Spalding University. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m.
