Senior Day Victory Over RMU-Springfield

SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. -- Not only did the SMWC women's basketball team square off against Robert Morris-Springfield. They also had to confront the emotion that senior day would bring. Tara Parmer and Jordyn Lloyd each played in their final game at Hamilton Arena, while team manager Brianna Hurley managed her final game as well. Despite the heavy hearts, the Woods came out victorious. SWWC closed out the regular season with a 104-64 victory and will sustain momentum headed into the USCAA National Championships.

In the first half, the Pomeroys and Eagles battled back and forth until the SMWC offense caught fire. Every sole player from the team scored for the Pomeroys in the first half. The Woods finished the half shooting 44.2% from the field while they outrebounded the Eagles 31-to-26. The SMWC defense forced RMU-Springfield to commit 16 turnovers with 11 of them being steals. In the second half, SMWC continued to flex their dominance. They hit seven three-point baskets, grabbed a team total of 35 rebounds, and tossed 10 total assists. Overall, the Pomeroys led in every single box score category which amounted a 104-64 senior day win!

Jordyn Lloyd | 14 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal

Delaney Jarrett | 12 points, nine rebounds, and one steal

66 | SMWC grabbed a total of 66 rebounds this afternoon

11 | The Woods knocked down 11 baskets from behind the arc


The SMWC women's basketball team will take on #1 seed Paul Quinn College on Wednesday, February 28th. Tip-off is set for 10:00 a.m. 


Fans wishing to make the trip to Uniontown, PA. can purchase tickets through the USCAA box office. All seating for the Championships is General Admission. Day passes include entry into both gymnasiums for any one day. Tournament passes provide access to both gymnasiums for all days of the tournament. Tickets are non-refundable while entry to Tuesday's skills competition 12:00 p.m. is free of charge.
