Pomeroys Win Five-Set Thriller Against the Panthers
SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The SMWC women's volleyball team defeated Hanover College tonight in a grueling back and fourth five-set match. The Pomeroys found a way to takeover set five which was the difference in the contest. The Woods improves to 9-12 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday, against Fontbonne University at 1:00 p.m. EST. Come out and pack Hamilton Arena for our Homecoming game and watch President Dottie King flip the medallion in the coin toss.

  • The Woods tallied a whopping 82.0 points tonight and concluded the contest with 59 kills
  • McKenzi Kumpf and Gabriella Slagle each tallied 14 kills apiece
  • Pamela Dorman, Kumpf, and Kelcie Basan each notched double-digits in the dig category
  • Katelyn Cotter set a new career-high with 52 asssists in tonight's match
  • The Pomeroys finish with a .189 hitting %

Looking Ahead...

The Woods will face powerhouse Missouri Baptist University on October 9th and will be challenged in a tri-set against Westminster University and Greenville University.
